Chroma partnered with Calvin Klein to curate a localized cultural activation during Art Basel, Miami.
Chroma curated a program utilizing our conference framework, where we bring together womxn of color working across creative fields to talk about their experiences under a specific theme. In collaboration with Miami based collective (F)empower, Chroma curated a living room space within the (F)empower space in Little Haiti.

The inspiration for the space was “seeking sanctuary in times of turbulence.” We incorporated our different definitions of home into the installation.



Chroma also curated a dinner during Art Basel with the help of Calvin Klein for womxn of color artists who were from Miami  and/or in Miami during basel. In collaboration with chef Angela Dimayuga, we curated a menu based on the reality of an apocalyptic Miami.




The Miami Tapes:

During Art Basel, Chroma curated and facilitated one day of programming in collaboration with Miami-based collective (F)empower entitled Chroma, the Miami Tapes. This space served as an intimate space for creative thinking and skill sharing as we consider




concepts of sanctuary for womxn of color during times of turbulence.

Artists and curators were invited to engage in 30 to 45 minute conversations regarding their work while also centering (F)empower’s theme of 2040, a program exploring the conditions of a post-apocalyptic, inundated Miami.

These conversations were recorded and will later be distributed through our podcast, Chroma Radio. Participating artists included Kennedy Yanko, Tschabalala Self, Angela Dimayuga, Leilah Weinraub, Meriem Bennani, GeoVanna Gonzalez and (F)empower.

Sienna Fekete is a producer and curator based in New York City with a background in radio, podcasting, and music. She is a co-founder of Chroma, a cultural agency & creative studio centering the work and perspectives of woc. She has worked exclusively with BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, On Air Fest, Red Bull Arts, NTS, The Lot Radio, StoryCorps, Top Rank Magazine, Domino Sound, Playground Radio and SiriusXM. She looks forward to creating more initiatives with Chroma, producing and programming more audio projects, growing her practice as a curator and archivist, and building collectively with her community.
